Mad Scientist comic fun!
This was a fun page I created for one of my 7 year old students. His family won a 1 page comic story by me in an auction our school put on. He's very smart and rather creative. He wanted to be a mad scientist and he actually gave me a book of his inventions to use. I picked the XO-Bot and the electric bomb. After a few sketches, I was able to draw them in my style to fit in the comic. I never completely write, draw, ink and color an entire page anymore so this was a great adventure. He wanted the story to continue so I told him to write the rest. Hope you enjoy!

Youngbloods Issue 7 Final Cover
Here's the color version for issue 7. I like the way this turned out. My coloring skills are getting better and I like the intensity in Jackie's eyes. I wanted to enhance the military/militia feel of the Kibo vampires with the greens and reds. Even the type near the bottom I chose to give it that military order feel. Hope you like it!

Last Youngbloods Cover-Pencils

Here is the pencilled version of the cover for issue 7 of Tales of Tritoria: Youngbloods. Yes, this is the last issue and the final battle. This image shows the main character, Jackie, finally as a full fledged vampire and holding up a member of the Kibo gang. I put the gang member's symbol on the shoulder to give you a feeling of a militia or hate group. The symbol doesn't mean anything but I want you to get the feeling that it does. When I throw some color into this I'll put it up next. Hope you like it!

Afro Samurai?!

I know it must seem crazy! The Black Samurai drawing Afro Samurai? I just couldn't help myself! Personally, I'm not a big fan of the Afro Samurai animation. However, I did pick up the Manga version and I've actually been enjoying it. It's drawn by the character's creator, Takashi Okazaki, and he really tells a cool story. It's the same as the animation but I can hang with the empty revenge story better in comic form. So, I wanted to try and draw Afro in my own style. I added the black and white version so you can compare it to the color. This was a fun chance for me to practice my coloring. I hope you likes!

Jackie Variant!
I drew this variant because I wanted to play around with Jackie's hair and have it out and wild. I ended up drawing her looking older. She looks about 16 or so here but I like it. This looks very close to my original design of her when I was planning out Youngbloods. She had green hair and a Japanese schoolgirl inspired outfit. At the time I was living in Japan and wanted that manga feel to come across. I ended up not using the green hair because I noticed that a lot of Anime I was watching would give black characters crazy hair colors. It takes away a bit of their blackness. If this image is Jackie at 16, she might be even more rebellious and actually color her hair green. So, I think it works for this version. What do you think?

Power Packed Doodles!
I was just having fun the other day doodling in my sketchbook and the Power Pack kids appeared! I was playing with different style eyes and frankly, I don't like any of them for these characters. It was good to have some time to just draw for pure enjoyment. I have no idea what the other drawings are about. Like I said, just doodles. Enjoy!
